Talking Why should i get the Dart?

hi, im looking to buy my first car and was wondering if the Dart was a good option. also, what are some basic mods i can make to the car to boost the performance that doesn't require me to be a mechanic. open to all opinions and suggestions.

I bought the 2016 GT blacktop with the sun and sound. With the alpine speakers, amp and subwoofer that comes with sound package. The speakers play crisp clear sound at very high level without any distortion. The LCD display really completes the car along with the dash display. My only complaint I would have with my car is the horsepower aspect. It is a little slow but nothing a few simple mods can't fix. Also I average 29.6 mpg.

This a complete mods list for:

1.4l multi-air turbo 1.4T Dodge Dart Master Performance Aftermarket Parts List

      2.0l
2.0L Dodge Dart Master Performance Aftermarket Parts List

      2.4l
2.4L Dodge Dart Master Performance Aftermarket Parts List

1.4 turbo has many more aftermarket performance parts then the 2.0 and 2.4

Thanks man. I have to down to the Cruze and Dart now, and I'm leaning to the dart. I went and test drove a 13 Rallye and I loved it. Thank you for the list of mods too

I owned a 2013 Cruze with the turbo and I now own a 2014 Dart SXT w/the rally package and the 2.4. on the Cruze, I had 3 turbos and 2 cat converters replaced. The turbos failed and messed up the cats. Performance was about the same. I hydroplaned into a 100 year old oak tree going 30mph with the Cruze and walked away injury free. Not even a seatbelt bruise. So I can testify to the safety of the Cruze. I haven't done that in the Dart, nor do I wish to press my luck.

The Dart is also very safe. One member here went head-on into a thick metal pole with a Mopar 13. He walked away unharmed and the front doors still opened and closed normally. Another member got clipped on the highway and ended up rolling their Dart at high speed. Without breaking the side windows. There are other examples on here of members walking away from wrecked Darts without a scratch. They're very safe cars. Of course, the same can be said of pretty much any modern car.

If you want something good on gas and a cruiser it's your car. Power not so much without paying a decent amount of cash and at that point it would have been cheaper and way easier to get another car

If you're only looking for performance try and find a used 13/14 1.4L Turbo Dart. Besides that, if you're looking for performance the Dart isnt the greatest.

I agree with the 1.4 but stay away from the 13/14 models they are first gen and are very prone to problems.

As long as you're not expecting a fire-breathing pavement scorcher the Dart is a very fun car to drive. My 2.4 Auto may be a bit sluggish in the city but it flies out on the open road. They're composed highway cruisers, not high-torque street racers. 3 1/2 years after buying mine I still admire it as I walk up to it, especially when it's all nice and shiny after having had a bath.
