Free is not really free

Dodge graciously gave many of us two free oil changes due to the DDCT recall. I received paperwork today from Chrysler regarding the oil changes. They are giving us a one year service contract good for two oil changes with a per service cap of $65. It looks like we will be out of pocket $10-20 for these "free" oil changes. Oh well... don't argue with "free", right?

Find a dealer that doesn't charge over $65, unless its specific to that dealership. Quite honestly, charging more than $65 is robbery.

Most dealer coupons only go to a certain price-cap on their specials for oil changes. Special oil = more expensive oil change.

Lol its a bit silly.. and shady, to give a free oil change for a car that cant use the free oil. Its like giving free bacon to a vegetarian.

Our little 1.4l turbo engines require full synthetic oil, so yeah $75 - $85 is about right.

Your only getting what 4 quarts of oil and a $10 filter even if your giving $10 a quart for oil that's only 50 bucks if you do it yourself and that's with high prices

No. It's just convenient since they have all the documentation if something goes bad.... they can't say you never had your oil changed.

You can change your oil anywhere you'd like.
