He held a sort of press conference - he would've rather had the 9-speed in there from the start, but it didn't fit the time-table for the Dart. That's the only thing he really didn't like. (shrug)

I hope they meant a 9 speed automatic and not the 9-speed manual that they wrote.
The 9 speed would of been great, but he has a point. The launch could have been better. My main thing is with the release of only Red Rallye Darts with the manuel transmissions.
I can already tell from December and especially 2013 that the Dart is starting to pick up a lot more. People are starting to see them more on the road, my dealerships are selling much more monthly then they were before, and this forum is also starting to become a lot busier!
Dodge is advertising the Dart wherever I go, so sales are picking up. Is it a failure? Absolutely not. It just didn't have the best launch. The same thing can be said about the Fiat 500. After it was out for a couple months then it started to pick up a lot more. It was a unfamilar company in America so that could be the reason, but Dodge has to fight off the previous beliefs people had on their reliability and getting back into the compact segment. The Dart is a underdog, I always say it would be silly to expect right out of the gate for the Dart to be selling Corolla/Civic #'s that have such a strong following. However, as the months go on and on the Dart will start becoming more of a success, just you watch!
The GT is a great start too, lowering the price and getting a ton of equiptment for that low price in comparision to the competiton.

There isn't many still here where I stay in Houston, kinda sad I haven't gotten to wave at someone else. The dealer I got it from had a whole bunch in stock lol.

I have alot of confidence in Dart sales picking up. It's up against a very competitive market, but it has the features and technology to be distinct.
