So I love the look of the Mopar Edition Charger, so I decided to have a little fun and spruce up the look of my dart.

First I debadged the front dodge logo, If you've never done it, I took some pictures of the badge so you could see what the back looks like. You pretty much have to break two clips because there's a one-way-washer that holds them in, after you break those two clips, it comes out pretty easily from the front of the car. Note you have have to take off the front plastic panel (the one that's above your radiator), it's just held in with push pin clips. Pull the middle part of it up, then pull the bottom part, SUPER easy and very well designed. Here's some pictures of the debadged dart and the badge itself.

Here's what I replaced it with, it's a Mopar emblem that's intended for a Charger, even though the honeycomb grills are pretty similar, since the honeycomb was filled behind the badge, it wouldn't clip in. The fix for this was to cut off the clips on the Mopar badge, and dremel down the nubs, wipe it and the grill down with alcohol, and then apply some heavy duty mounting tape. Here's the shots with the badge on, it fits PERFECTLY between the crosshairs.

Finally, the hard part, my brother-in-law and I put on a Mopar stripe to finish out the look. The easy parts were the hood and roof, but once we got to the back and the very front, we started having to deal with the curves of the dart and since neither of us had really any experience laying vinyl, I'd say it came out pretty dang good. Keep in mind, we're probably gonna redo the front mid-grill, and finish out the front and the back, we ran out of daylight pretty fast and it just got twice as hard. Here's the pictures! Sorry for the crappy cell phone camera shots, I did the best I could with limited light, once I wash the car later on this week I'll take some daytime pictures.

I DO need some of your opinions though. On the front, do you think I should take off the stripe on the center and just finish out the bottom part of the hood? My brother-in-law thinks that'd look better, but I think it'd look better like it is, and finish out the bottom of the hood AND put it on the lip on the bottom. I'll also probably put it on the inside of the cross hair just to keep the line going.

Hope you liked it!

Next up I'll be adding an intake so it'll sound meaner, then wheels and spacers, then probably bags or coilovers

And exhaust?

You know.. I really like the way the exhaust sounds on this car, it's not TOO loud, but it surely isn't quiet. It's got a nice hollow grumble. I've heard some that are a little more tame. I guess I got a good one? lol. In all seriousness, if I DO go exhaust, I have a coworker whose dad has run an exhaust shop for over 20 years. He gave me a quick quote and said he could probably do it for around 200-300 bucks, including parts and labor. I'll also eventually want the hot side intercooler pipes and a nice downpipe

I say you should finish the stripes on the grille and trunk.

Also, I think the Dart is next for the Mopar treatment

Agreed.

My ddct is a great transmission it may not be a manual as we got it for my girls daily driver as I would of sooner had a manual but I will not knock the ddct. At first it shifted a little weird and kinda abrupt but after some use and miles on it it shifts great its smooth and shifts exactly as any auto would shift. We are also seeing 37 mpg highway out if it and around 34 in town.

Mopar logo looks ugly, oversized, my opinion is or dodge or nothing

Stripe looks ok, but ,aybe different color? Or at least not so bright blue

What about crosshair? Or how it called? I wonder how hard to get rid of it?

P.s. ooh i see it, kind a clips, i wonder do i need to break them toO?

Mopar blue and Mopar emblem....I like it. I agree, bring the strip past the hood...otherwise it looks good.

Man! Talk about reviving a dead thread! lol. It's cool.

I got the stripe from this guy.

I honestly can't remember if the pictures in this thread are of the old stripe I had or the one I have now. either way, get Azure Blue, it's pretty much exactly the office Mopar Pantone color.

Here's some updated pictures of my last mod install party:
