      Androids and music through USB?

I just went from the iPhone 4S to the LG G2, and discovered that the music on the G2 doesn't read through the USB PORT in the car. Is that because the phone doesn't have an sd card? Or is it just that iPhones only work through that USB connection? Bluetooth works fine and actually sounds better, but I miss the navigation part in the console...

Try playing with the USB settings on the G2. See if there isn't a mass storage mode or something else that the phone isn't on already that might let you browse the device from the radio.

I tried that it does have a storage mode - but all three modes cause the Dart to give me a message that it can't read the USB device and I have to click the green OK button...

I use my galaxy s2 everyday, listening music through USB just like an iPod… only problem, it pulls all my audio files, wav sounds, records, mp3, game sounds, random app sounds… annoying…

The only way that i know of that you can play music in the dart, (from an Android Device) is by changing the USB mode to Mass Storage. Which in a sense, makes your phone look, feel, and act like a USB stick (to the car). Any android beyond version 4.2.2, this mode is blocked due to security issues. It gives too much access to the phones file system. However, it can still be done but I would not recommend it, as it would be breaking copy-rite laws as well, as Microsoft owns patients in that area somewhere. A google search for "USB Mass Storage Android 4.3" and do some reading, and then learn yourself what "root Access" is.... I have never done much research on any other method, or if there is any other way to make the car recognize the phone and access it for playing music. If i come across any other work around I'll make another post.

Here is a decent writeup on this very subject. http://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comm...t_support_usb/
