    Tigershark 2.0 Performance

Wondering if all of you can share your opinions on this particular engine?

I just bought the Rallye with the 2.0 Tigershark engine a month ago and I seem to notice it is not quite as speedy at times.

I did "break in" the car already, as it is just over 750 miles now. I find it decent at times but somewhat sluggish and struggling most of the time.

For example, when I drive up an expressway ramp and really want to speed up, it seems to struggle a bit at the very beginning and then kicks into gear quite well.

    Also,
When I took that first test drive right before I bought it, I noticed that the car didn't even move when on drive and idle. I had to hit the gas pedal and the sales guy said it would "loosen over time".

Gas pedal is quite stiff in fact and wondering if some of you really press down on it to get that decent acceleration when really needed?

Maybe it is just me, but that's why I decided to post this tonight...especially after just seeing it mentioned in commercial for that new Fast & Furious movie. lol

    Thanks,

    --mike

    Auto stick it?
If you mean lime my previous Mazda that had somewhat of a gap where I can control, this car does not have it.

yes, put it in drive, slide stick to the left and then use up or down to shift gears manually.

really? what model did you get? I have the SXT with the 2.0 with an auto trans. and I have it. I did not know there were any automatic Darts that did not have the auto stick.

see the red circle? slide to the left, and then up/down to shift gears manually --- no "gap"

Sounds like the problem is you believed a salesman. Don't listen to him, you bought the exact same car you test drove. Modding time!

I have a 2.0 manual. I do love driving it and I have no problem getting up to speed. But I do notice the weight of the vehicle, sometimes accelerating I feel like I'm nearly on the floor. This also has to do with my shifting though.

I haven't done anything overly aggressive yet as it's my first brand new car and I'm still getting better with my manual skills and how the car likes to be driven. The 2.0 still gives a great little roar out of the pipes and I love to hear it, so my tanks have lasted me roughly 600kms each.

Most of the vehicles I've previously driven had an autostick, it's the best feature especially for small engines. Gives you that extra control needed, if I had one i would still primarily use it, controlling the gears is the right and enjoyable way to drive for me

Yep, one thing I do like is that roar from those nice-looking pipes.
