The main thread around the .org to help assist with the pedal lag and or acceleration on the Naturally Aspirated 2.0 engine is the following:

      The Pedal Lag

Read up through that thread and see if you have any questions afterwards. It's been a well known issue with the drive-by-wire system of the Dart, but we do what we can to minimize it as much as possible.

Well there's yer problem. The SE was made to get people in the showroom with $15,999 advertised pricing, not for explosive acceleration. Other than trading it in for a more powerful model, there is nothing short of an engine swap that will make it substantially quicker.

Honestly get the RRM lightweight pulley. It does wonders when taking off.

As far as pedal or transmission delay i cant really comment on that since my 6MT GT doesnt have those problems modded as it is.

I'd start with a CAI. Stock air boxes usually aren't real spectacular.

The more I've experienced with the pedal lag with my 2.4, the more I'm tending to believe it might be due to the TCM programming than the ECU. I'm wondering if the Madness TCM tune might help with this. I haven't been able to get the funds yet to try it myself.

While it is true that the Powertech's TCU gearing is anemic and more for MPG's and CAFE ratings than performance, the advent of the coppers & lightweight pulley make it leaps and bounds over stock pedal lag (keeping transmissions out of the equation). Now if we did bring transmissions into the fold, I too am interested in the Madness TCM. After doing some extensive research and finding out it is made by TMC Motorsport from the UK - TMC AutoFlash | TMC Motorsport | Automatic Tuning. I don't have the funds and I think $600 for a TCU flash is absurd (no matter how good it is).

Either way you look at it though, with the way the ECU's & TCM's are programmed more towards the economical side than performance. Couple that with the drive-by-wire, you're looking at pedal lag no matter what without a proper tune (or in your case @Slinky an aftermarket turbo).
