      HandHeld Tuner is ready....

      I wanted to post this up in the general area for those who don't visit the vendor section and to get an update out to everyone letting them know....


      HANDHELD IS FINALLY DONE!!!

      More details can be found in our section under Tork Motorsports and now that we have finished the 1.4 turbo handheld, we can move onto the 2.0 and 2.4 customers.

      Yes, 2.0 and 2.4 are on the list. It took me 8 months to make this happen, so I hope to hell it doesn't take that long to get the 2.0 and 2.4 working for you guys.

      How much are we looking at to get one of these hand helds? Do we need to have the Tork ECU flash as well?

      $695 and it comes with $200 worth of free upgrades (one week only). No, this will replace the Tork ECU flash.

      John, how long do you think it will be till there are end user variable functions on your handheld? (ie variable boost/ timing/ fuel trim adjustments) Like other tunable handhelds out on the market.

      We are looking into this right now. Problem, the multiair is very complex and very easy to screw up a tune. So, if we give anything it would be simple things like ignition timing, fueling, and RPM limiters. We could give control of boost, but boost is just as complex as the multiair, so we are looking at something for you guys but it will not be all inclusive.

      My other turbo car (MKIV VW 1.8T) has had a GIAC tune for 12 years and 185K tuned original miles (plus 30 tires smoked) and I have never had the desire to adjust anything about it. I have taken advantage of it adjusting automatically for higher octane, but that was all before the price of racing fuel doubled. As long as it is a good tune to begin with, and the tuner periodically fine tunes it, then I don't need no stinking adjustments!

      (If you heard it idle next to the Dart's idle, you would think the Dart was the antique...).
